Never before performed in the North West, this new British Musical written by Roy Sault, is set during the years of the Second World War. Described as the 'definitive WWII musical', 'When The Lights Go On Again' promises a trip down memory lane for many. Full of pure nostalgia, this is a tale of the British spirit overcoming troubled times with humour and friendship. It features over 30 unforgettable songs of the era, including 'Bless 'Em All', 'The White Cliffs Of Dover', 'A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square', 'The Lambeth Walk', 'Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree' and 'Land Of Hope And Glory'.
This musical story recalls the feelings of the era by following the experiences of a typical family and their local community during war time. Scenes portray being inside an air raid shelter, queuing for rations, the Saturday night dance, an army camp concert and more, culminating in a VE Day street party.
